Cloud and DevOps training · the authority play
Forty page one searches, in a market nobody had mapped.
An academy that certifies cloud and DevOps engineers. Nine years of teaching, thousands of graduates, a hiring network that places them. The teaching was excellent. The visibility was not.
Search knew almost nothing about them
A handful of keywords on page one, an average position in the twenties, and three separate properties on the same brand that had never been told how they related to each other.
Every playbook I had was written for Manchester, Las Vegas and Vancouver. This market has different competitors and different query language. That was the point of taking it.
For a sense of scale, the Manchester cleaner averages position 6 on its main search (Search Console, June to August 2026) and the Las Vegas firm holds 44 top-three spots (Ahrefs, July 2026). Here the whole tracked set moved from an average of 21 to 10 in seven months, on the rank tracker.

In this order, and the order matters
The base, before a single word of content
Measurement on all three properties, HTTPS enforced, the sitemap cleaned, redirects made consistent, and a hub that told search which brand these addresses belong to.
Structure the courses could be found by
Course markup on the five that carry the business, FAQ markup for the questions people type, and a heading order that stopped competing with itself.
Authority in clusters, not bursts
Twenty six pieces, each mapped to a real search and linked into the silo it belongs to.
A deliberate pause, which nobody publishes
With forty keywords on page one, new posts were dragging the average down by adding fresh keywords at position fifty. Publishing stopped for a month while the off page work caught up.
Off page last, not first
Fourteen profiles and pages I control on other platforms, plus a directory set where every entry says the same name, address and phone number, built only once there was something worth pointing at.

Visibility is usually counted in clicks. Once in a while it turns into standing.
The same order of work that suits a law firm in Nevada and a cleaner in Manchester works in a market where the language, the competition and the buying pattern are all different.
